Frequently asked questions
Will you send me updates?
Yes! While pet-sitting, I will always send a message when I first arrive, so you know I made it in okay, and a message when I leave that includes the time your dog was last out, and anything else you need to know. I'll also ALWAYS reach out if anything out of the ordinary happens. I want to be sure my clients feel in the loop and up-to-date at all times. Other than that, it's up to you! If you'd like daily pictures, I'd be happy to send them! But if you'd rather unplug while you're out of town, I'm happy to stick with the necessities as well. Whatever makes you most comfortable!

As for dog walking, I'll send a message after our first walk to give you a full report of how things went. After that, you can expect a full report on the weekly report cards. Again, I'll always reach out if anything out of the ordinary happens, or if I happen to snap a cute picture that just needs to be shared (:
What is the process for new clients?
When you first reach out, I will ask a few questions regarding services and scheduling. Then once all the details are sorted out, we will set up a meet-and-greet so we can be sure we're a good fit, and you and your furry family member can show me the lay of the land - your pups favorite spot to relax, his/her favorite toys, feeding and walking supplies. I'll also bring along some quick paperwork with a few questions about your pup. Then we will be all set for our outdoor fun!
I see a lot of information about dogs, do you have experience caring for cats?
Yes I do! Some of my sweetest clients have been cats, and I have cared for many families with both dogs and cats. The more the merrier!
What can I expect when you stay in my home?
When I stay overnight in a client's home I will always be repectful of their space. You can expect to return home to a house as clean as you left it. I will do my own dishes before I leave, make the bed (or strip it, whichever your prefer), and just generally try to make it seem like I was never there! I'll stay in the room that is prepared for me, and your pet can sleep in their regular spot. If that's in the bed with me, great! If not, that's okay too. My dog Sunni wasn't much of a snuggler, so I always respect a dog's personal boundaries. I want to make the experience great for the dog, and for the owner as well, and make sure everyone involved is happy and comfortable!
Will you administer medication?
Yes. I have a lot of experience giving dogs their medications - even those who don't necessarily enjoy them.
Will you work with my aggressive dog?
Unfortunately, I am not available to work with dogs that are aggressive toward people. If you have a shy pup who occassionaly snaps when nervous, that is alright. (I find that we can usually overcome that within a visit or two.) Or if you have a dog who doesn't like being around other dogs, we can always cross the street if needed. But I am not a trainer, so if a dog is outright aggressive, I will not be able to provide care.
What are your homemade treats made of?
My homemade treats are made of simple ingredients to reduce the risk of allergies. These ingredients are peanut butter, canned pumpkin, eggs, and whole wheat flour. Basically, they are bone-shaped cookies for dogs, and I've yet to meet a pup that doesn't like them!
Lastly, tell me about your dog.
My dog Sunni just passed away this past December. She was an eleven-year-old lab mix, and she was my best friend in the whole world! We did everything together - back when we lived in North Dakota, she went to work with me everyday at the Pet Resort where she made tons of furry friends. Her best friends were a yellow lab named Jake, and a jack russel terrier named Finn. In Madison we had SO MANY adventures! This picture is from a hike at Devils Lake State Park.

She was my best friend, and I promise to treat your pet(s) with the same love and respect I always did her.
